Tourism in Potton at the turn of the 19th century
    at the
Community Hall of the Mansonville Anglican Church
    [Free admission]

The historian Kesteman notes the beginning and rapid growth of the tourist industry from 1850 to 1920, due largely to the proliferation of places of interest and a coordinated rail service connecting tickets and itinerary for steamship or stagecoach service.

Our exhibition presents images from this historical time. Paintings and engravings, grand hotels, stagecoaches, boats and trains, the islands of Memphremagog, the legend of Memphré, climbing Owl’s Head and fishing, summer camps and elegant villas.
