    Welcome to all

Your presence is requested at the 32nd Annual General Meeting of Members of the Potton Heritage Association, which will be held very soon, as follow:

    1. Sunday April 7th, 2024
    2. The meeting will start at 10 am
    3. It will be held at the Saint Cajetan Church, in the basement
    4. It should be completed by noon
    5. And it will be followed by a Wine and Cheese buffet.

All are welcome, whether member in good standing or not. But do recall that only members in good standing shall have the right to vote on matters calling for such a vote during the meeting (in good standing means having paid their annual 2024 membership).

    Some additional information:

    • Please confirm your attendance before April 1st, 2024, so that we may plan the “Wine and Cheese” buffet accordingly.
    • The meeting local will open at 9:30 am; anyone that could help us set up the room shall be greatly appreciated!
    • The Saint Cajetan Church is in Mansonville, opposite to the Round Barn Park
    • Starting with the year 2022, dues were made compulsory again to become or remain a member in good standing of the Association:
      • Membership dues remain at $20 for 2024
      • Dues are payable cash, by check or via Interac transfer; PHA will issue a receipt for the amount paid
      • When a donation is made or added to dues, PHA will automatically issue a receipt valid for tax purposes in the amount of the donation
      • Two attendants will be available at the greeting desk to help you with your payment of dues. Be sure to arrive in advance of 10 am if you need to attend to this. Thank you.

  • Request for assistance

Our Association made its wish to protect the Border Covered Bridge (Pont de la Frontière) at a private hearing with the Commission du Patrimoine et de la Culture du Québec on January 10.

It could take up to a year for the bridge to be classified as a historic monument. In the meantime, we are continuing to follow up the situation with the various authorities concerned.

To this end, we would like to know if there is a notary or lawyer in our community who would be willing to “Pro Bono” help us clarify certain legal issues.

If so, please contact me at the following e-mail address: apphaw@gmail.com

    Thank you.

    Lorraine Rouillard, President
