Summer Activities 2011

Saturday June 18th at 6:30 p.m. : opening of the summer season by Hans Walser in a beautiful log home nestled in the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Sushi supper accompanied by Jazz. Address: 52 Hilmar Krausser. Cost: 40$/pers, Bring your own wine. You must reserve before June 4th with Carol Bishop (450) 292-4844. Limited room.

Saturday June 25th at 9:30 a.m. : Discover Missisquoi river and exceptional landscapes by Kayak. Limited number of kayak rental with Jacques Thouin: 25 $ for members or at Dunkin (450) 538-4052. Meet: 560 Mansonville road. Bring your lunch. Reservation with Jacques and Terry: (450) 292-3020

Friday, July 15th at 9 :30 a.m. : excursion to Mont Singer (4 h walk). Meet : corner of Westhill & 243. Bring your lunch. Confirm with Frank Ruiz before July 2d : (450) 292-3542.

Saturday July 23th at 10 a.m. : Visit to a mini farm. Meet at 10 a.m. on 267 Owl’s head road. This is a beautiful place to visit with children: there are lots of animals ( chicken, ducks, sheep, goats, horses,etc.). We have skipped the walk since we would like to join the “Saturdays in Potton” in the village and encourage the “Lake of Stew” band during lunch. Bring your picnic and chair. If you do want to take a walk, you can start earlier and join us from the Golf Course (4 km round trip). Responsible : Edith (450) 292-0547.

Thursday August 4th at 2 p.m.: Discover Missisquoi nord path leading to the Green Mountains Nature Reserve. Meet: corner of Westhill & route 243. Optional: supper & entertainment after walk at the « Red room » in Glen Sutton. Reservation for supper with Frank Ruiz before August 27th (450) 292-3542.

Saturday August 13th starting at 9 a.m.: Potton Multicultural Festival. The Heritage Association will have a booth and display the Photo contest on the theme: “My best picture of Potton » showing our natural, cultural, landscape, architectural or archaeological Heritage. Sunday August 21th at 4 p.m.: Visit to St Agnes Vineyard, 2565 ch. Scenic, Sutton, including a presentation on our new Heritage pamphlets. A cold buffet will follow in the Wedding room. Cost : 25$/pers + taxes, including the visit. Local or imported wine available. Reservation essential before August 7th with Carol: (450) 292-4844. https://www.vindeglace.com/

Saturday September 10th, at 10 a.m. : Walk and Mushroom picking on Tim Head’s property with panoramic view of Potton. Leaders: mycologists Nicole Busby & Romain Labrie. Bring your lunch. Max 40 pers. Priority to members. Please call for meeting place: Edith (450) 292-0547.
