The 2017 Photography Contest, sponsored by the Potton Heritage Association, will be held during Potton’s Multicultural Festival (FMP), which begins on August 12th , 2017.
The theme for 2017 : The Flowers of Potton
Photograph the flowers of Potton:
- spring or summer flowers;
- wild or cultivated;
- water flowers or wildflowers;
- in a group or alone;
- in a rock garden or near a fence;
- … the choice is vast.
Limitation: No person, child or adult, should appear on the photographs due to their publication in public and on our website.
Rules adopted by the Board of Directors
- The contest is open to all, resident of Potton or not. The members of the Board of Potton Heritage, their spouses and children are eligible to participate, given the symbolic nature of the prizes awarded.
- Photos must have been taken in the Township of Potton.
- Each contestant may submit a maximum of five (5) photographs in printed form. Since display space at the Festival is limited, the Association reserves the right to reduce the number of photographs displayed per entry. If this is necessary, the contestant will decide which to display.
- Printed photographs may be either in 8 x 10’’ or 8 x 12’’format; and may be either in black and white, or colour.
- Each entry must be clearly identified on the back with the photographer’s name, telephone number, e-mail, and mailing address, in addition to the name of the subject and where the photo was taken.
- To be included in the contest, printed copies of all entries must be sent to the Potton Heritage Association, C.P. 262, Mansonville, Qc J0E 1X0; or handed to Robert Joli, 282 chemin Leadville, Mansonville, Québec J0E 1X0 [450-292-0569] at the latest one (1) week prior to the FMP, August 5, 2017.
- Printed photographs will be returned after the contest, by simply asking Robert Joli.
- The Association will also accept digital photos for publication on the Association’s website. Only those in jpg. format that do not surpass 2Mo will be accepted for publication. These photos must be sent to the following e mail address

or by USB stick to Robert Joli. - Please note that digital format is optional. The same conditions for identification will apply.
- Three winners will be chosen by secret ballot of the public at the Festival.
- The winning photos will be laminated and exhibited with all entries, at the municipal Library in the fall of 2017.
- By participating in the contest, the photographer authorizes the Potton Heritage Association to publish the photographs submitted, without remuneration, on its website; to use in its publications, or to show in any of its exhibitions, with attribution.
