Reopening of the Mansonville Round Barn

Press release received from the Round Barn Committee

The Mansonville round barn
will soon open its doors to the public
!

The barn committee is actively working to make this possible as early as July 18th; thereafter, the barn will be open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Thanksgiving.

However, the barn committee urgently needs help. We are therefore looking for volunteers to welcome visitors every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Thanksgiving, within the strictest respect of the hygiene rules given the circumstances (distance, optional masks, etc.). We already have a dozen volunteers, so if we had a dozen more, it would be enough for everyone to come just once, on a single Saturday. If you can help us, please contact Béatrice Baass by phone at (450) 292-6872 or by email: bfussinger@gmail.com.

In addition to the visit of the restored barn, there will be three interesting exhibits that will be presented at the plateau and the hayloft this year:

  • The existing exhibit on “Tourism at the Turn of the 19th Century” which was presented at the Anglican Church Community Hall in 2017, but which too few visitors were able to see at that time.
  • A new exhibition on artisanal butter making.
  • An audio-visual presentation on the operation of a round barn.

Please join us in this adventure.

For the Round Barn Committee,
Edith Smeesters | July 9, 2020
