2015 – Photography Contest

  • old_cameraThe 2015 Photography Contest, sponsored by the Potton Heritage Association, will be held during Potton’s Multicultural Festival (FMP), which begins on August 8, 2015.
  • The theme chosen for the 2015 contest is :
    Pottonites in their daily routine.
  • Photograph your Pottonite relatives, friends or neighbours doing whatever they do in their daily lives, be they baker, grocer, garage mechanic, craftsman, farmer or carpenter!
  • The contest is open to all, resident of Potton or not. The members of the Board of Potton Heritage, their spouses and children are eligible to participate, given the symbolic nature of the prizes awarded.
  • Photos must have been taken in the Township of Potton.
  • Each contestant may submit a maximum of three (3) photographs in printed form. Since display space at the Festival is limited, the Association reserves the right to reduce the number of photographs displayed per entry. If this is necessary, the contestant will decide which to display.
  • Printed photographs may be either in 8 x 10’’ or 8 x 12’’format; and may be either black and white, or coloured.
  • Each entry must be clearly identified on the back with the photographer’s name, telephone number, e-mail, and mailing address, in addition to the name of the subject and where the photo was taken.
  • To be included in the contest, printed copies of all entries must be sent to the Potton Heritage Association, C.P. 262, Mansonville, Qc J0E 1X0; or handed to Christian Smeesters, 3 chemin Maurice-Coté, Mansonville, Qc J0E 1X0, at the latest one (1) week prior to the FMP, August 1, 2015
  • The Association will also accept digital photos for publication on the Association’s website. Only those in jpg. format that do not surpass 2Mo will be accepted for publication.These photos must be sent to the following e mail address

    – or by USB stick to Christian Smeesters.
  • Please note that digital format is optional. The same conditions for identification will apply.
  • Three winners will be chosen by secret ballot of the public at the Festival.
  • The winning photos will be laminated and exhibited with all entries, at the municipal Library in the fall of 2015.
  • By participating in the contest, the photographer authorizes the Potton Heritage Association to publish the photographs submitted, without remuneration, on its website; to use in its publications, or to show in any of its exhibitions, with attribution.
  • No pictures of minors (less than 18 years of age) will be accepted for the contest, and none will be published or otherwise used by the Association.
  • Photos taken of one or more persons over 18 years of age must be accompanied with the signed authorization for publication purposes, as follows :

Consent form for adults, eighteen (18) years of age or older

I hereby authorize, by the present, the publication of my name and my image, in whole or in part, individually or with other images, on the website of the Potton Heritage Association, and on other official sites, as well as for any other publication, including its exhibition.

Insofar as this image (photograph) is concerned. I renounce my right to privacy protection relating to the use of my name and personal information contained on it. I further renounce all rights to remuneration , present or future, for the use of my name and any image of me.
