Friday September 24th

 10:00 a.m. : Opening of the «  Journées de la culture » at the Memorial Library

  • Coffee and croissants
  • Introduction of the « Journées de la culture »  by Jacques Marcoux
  • Launching of the Potton Cultural Policy
  • Launching of the Heritage Days and presentation of the 2010 manifest

 11:00 a.m. : Presentation of the exhibition “Painters of the Past”

  • Visit by schoolchildren of the library and the exhibition until 4:00 p.m.
  • The exhibition continues until September 30th

 6:00 p.m. : 20e anniversary supper of the Potton Heritage Association
at the Owl’s Head Golf Club; $20 for members ; reservations before September 15th with Edith (292-0547) or Yolande (292-0430)

  • Recognition of the founding members of the association
  • Official launching of the association’s website and the 20th anniversary souvenir book
  • A  humorous look at the association

  • 10:30 a.m. : Visit of the Mason lodge with Jacques Thouin
  • 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. : Music by the Estrie Harmony band
  • 2:00 p.m. : Tale in French on « Les débuts de la colonisation »
  • 3:00 p.m.: The Mansonville Round Barn : its history and architecture by Gérard Leduc

  • Sale of used books for the benefit of the Memorial Library ( in front of the Town Hall)

A busy Saturday – August 21

Next Saturday, August 21st, there are lots of activities on the agenda in Potton :

  • As usual, Saturdays in Potton with the Farmer’s market starting at 8 a.m. and Music in the Park from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • At 10 a.m.: Forest excursion near Sugar Loaf Pond, followed by picnic and swimming at Carol Bishop. Carol will provide coffee and dessert. Meet: Corner of Sugar Loaf Pond Road and Hilmar Krausser. Please call Carol if you like to join and check the weather forecast: (450) 292-4844.
  • At 10 :30 a.m. : Gérard Leduc is going to lead an excursion at the Potton Springs Hotel site, during the Annual fair of the Poorna-Jnana Yoga inc. Fondation who own the site. Details herewith in French but the comments will be bilingual.
  • At 1:30 p.m.: Public Consultation about the Cultural Politic at the Town Hall.

  • Friday, September 24th: Gala Supper at 6 p.m. at the Owl’s Head Golf Club for the Potton Heritage 20th anniversary
  • Saturday, September 25th: Concert in the Anglican Church, hour to be confirmed.
