Sunday, June 7th<\/sup>, 1:30 p.m. Town Hall in Mansonville<\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/strong>Our President, Sandra Jewett, will present a talk entitled \u201cA Community in distress – The Typhoid Epidemic of 1923\u201d, an event in which 205 citizens were afflicted and sixteen died.\u00a0 Bilingual presentation.\u00a0 A light lunch will follow the lecture.\u00a0 Free admission.\u00a0 To reserve or for information call Carol Bishop 450-292-4844.<\/p>\n

Saturday, June 20th<\/sup>, 1:30 p.m.<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Guided visit to the Skinner, Elkins and Miltimore cemeteries near Highwater.\u00a0 The Elkins and Skinner families were some of Potton\u2019s first settlers in 1797.\u00a0 Sandra Jewett, G\u00e9rard Leduc and Viateur Rodrigue will provide historical commentary and observations.\u00a0 Meet in the parking near the CIBC for carpooling (recommended). A BBQ follows at Carol\u2019s – $10.00 charge applies, bring your own beverage. Reservations essential before June 14th<\/sup><\/u>, with Carol at 450-292-4844.<\/p>\n

Saturday, July 18th<\/sup>, 10 a.m.<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Visit the site of the former Mountain House Hotel on the shores of Memphremagog at the foot of Owl\u2019s Head.\u00a0 G\u00e9rard Leduc will narrate the history of this site.\u00a0 The hotel burned in October 1899, was never rebuilt and is now the site of the Worthen family\u2019s summer home.\u00a0 Remember to bring water, and your lunch. No amenities available. Meet at intersection of chemin Mountain House and Leadville.<\/p>\n

Saturday, July 25th<\/sup>, 10 a.m.<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Hike up Owl\u2019s Head Mountain.\u00a0 Meet in the main parking lot.\u00a0 Bring plenty of water, hiking poles and wear good boots. Choice of either intermediate or challenging route to the summit. Intermediate level will be led by Grant, and the other led by Frank is a challenging hike. Total duration: 4 hours approximately.<\/p>\n

Friday and Saturday, August 7th <\/sup>and 8<\/span>th<\/span>
\n<\/sup><\/strong>Visit the Heritage Booth at the Multicultural Festival<\/strong>.

\n<\/strong>Hike Singer Mountain with leader, Frank Ruiz. Carpool from Parc Andr\u00e9-Gagnon. Level: difficult; duration 5 hours.<\/p>\n

Saturday, August 22nd<\/sup>, 10 a.m.<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Visit to the Beach family\u2019s summer home on Lake Memphremagog, built in 1870. Owner Richard Beach will provide the history.\u00a0 Meet at corner of Chemin des Faucons-P\u00e9lerins and du Lac. Parking is very constrained at the location.\u00a0 Bring your own lunch and swimsuit! Must reserve with Carol at 450-292-4844.<\/p>\n

Saturday, September 5th<\/sup>, 1 p.m.<\/span>
\n<\/strong>One of our most popular events\u2026 our corn roast on the shores of Lake Memphremagog, at the Municipal beach at Perkins Landing.\u00a0 Bring a salad or dessert to share. Bring your own beverage and water, if desired, along with your place setting and glass for your favourite beverage. Reservations are required for menu coordination! <\/u><\/strong>Call Janine at 450 292 3780!\u00a0 Duration, around 3 hours.<\/p>\n
